I’d always asked this question since most of the times I use my microwave oven for preparing food. It appears that its not a good idea for preparing baby bottles with milk…
1. Microwave heating is uneven and can create hot spots where it can burn a baby’s mouth.
2. If you microwave a plastic bottle, it can release a number of toxic chemicals into the baby’s milk.
3. If you are breast feeding, microwaving can kill any antibodies that protects the baby from illnesses and diseases.
The best way to handle this situation is to do what was before microwaving…place the bottle in warm water or under warm running water for a few minutes. Common sense!
